It has been a great two weeks since I saw the doctor! I have been feeling good and walking almost everyday for 45 minutes to an hour plus working in the house and yard.
This week I attended a class called Look Good Feel Better in Columbia. The American Cancer Society held the class at the Missouri Cancer Association Building. It was amazing! It was all about taking care of yourself, and we were given tips on make-up, wigs, scarves, and more. I think that all six in attendance had a great time. It is always awesome to meet new people and bond so quickly because of cancer stories. The American Cancer Society had some great people working for them.

Doctor's appointment went very well. Got more meds! LOL! Anyway, my white blood count is down....really down.....very low..... the Dr told me I must stay away from people, rest, and let my body rebuild after the chemo. The body right now needs time to replenish and stock up on white blood cells. I will have my next treatment in 2 weeks.
I want to thank you all again for your prayers, flowers, hats, bracelets, visits, food, and notes of encouragement, etc. You all have made my heart happy. It is so good to know that you care and are praying for me. I love you! God is good and is giving me the strength to see this through.....He has put you all here so I can lean on all of you.....Love!

May 24th……First chemotherapy session.
Today we arrived in Columbia at 8:00 and left the Missouri Cancer Association around 3:30 this afternoon.
8:00-9:15 we watched a video and was given two folders full of information about chemo treatments.
9:15 Dr. Honeycutt looked over all our tests and records. I was given a physical again looking for signs of change since last week.
May 23, 2012
Tomorrow we drive to Columbia, Missouri. Arriving about 8:00 to take the "Teach" class on Chemo. Then I will see Dr. Honeycutt at 9:15 then off to Chemo. I have been told that the Chemo may be 4 hours. So, sometime in the afternoon, I will arrive back in Macon. Love to all and thank you for all your prayers.

Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) is a fast moving cancer and RARE! Because IBC is so fast moving, the doctors have inserted a port-a-cath today, May 22nd and May 24th I will receive my first Chemo treatment.
The following was taken from http://ww5.komen.org/BreastCancer/TypesofTumors.html#inflammatory
What is inflammatory breast cancer?
Inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) is rare and the most
aggressive form of breast cancer. It is called inflammatory
breast cancer because its main symptoms are
swelling and redness of the breast. Unlike other forms
of breast cancer, IBC often lacks a distinct lump or
tumor. Instead, cells can grow in sheets that spread
through the breast. Unless there is a defined lump, IBC
may not be found by a mammogram or ultrasound.
If no lump is present, it can be hard to diagnose.
Because IBC cells spread easily to other parts of the
body, it requires prompt diagnosis and treatment.

The reason for Pritchard's Progress!
Hello Everyone!
Paul and I have created Pritchards’ Progress to keep all our loved ones (family and friends) informed on our health issues.
Paul has Heart issues with upcoming doctor appointments, and I have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer (Inflammatory Breast Cancer).
Because of this……..It will not be easy to answer all the phone calls and text messages from our family and friends. There are not enough hours in the day to spend time with everyone on updates and procedures. We love you all so much, and do not want you to worry about us. Also, we do not want to insult anyone! We are praying that you will understand and forgive us if you have found out through FACEBOOK about our health.
****************************************************
We have been hearing concerns about my condition, upcoming treatments, and surgery, so here is a little update.
I went to Dr. Jamie Kauffman on May 1st , who (on that same day) referred me to a clinic in Moberly to have a mammogram and ultrasound. She saved my life. She did not mess around with antibiotics; she knew what to do and sent me that day to get tests.
May 9th, we were introduced to my surgeon, Dr. Suppes, who did a biopsy in her office.
May 14th We had another appointment with Dr. Suppes to tell us the plan.
May 16th, I was schedule for a PET scan and Echo tests.
May 18th, We found out I have stage III of IBC from Dr. Honeycutt. She talked with us for over two hours outlining the upcoming months of Chemo-surgery-radiation. We are blessed to have her.
May 22nd was set for the port-a-cath surgery with Dr. Suppes
May 23rd is set for the bone density tests
May 24th will be the first chemo treatment with Dr. Honeycutt.
This is probably enough information for now. Please realize that we love you all and will be updating you through this Facebook website!
Hugs and love to all!
